God's Got Your Applesauce

"Uh-Oh!" I heard his little toddler voice say. My shoulders sagged as I turned his way. Applesauce was everywhere. The wall, the table, the chair, the floor...

"It's okay." I reassured his worried heart. "We will clean it up together." I instructed him to grab the squeeze pouch and the lid.

He walked back over to the table and halted. The lid had fallen under the table... the table covered in applesauce. "Momma, uh-oh!" He pointed to the applesauce dripping on the floor. "Wipe!" He said a little louder.

"Honey, I've got this part. Applesauce is hard to wipe up, Momma will do that. You just get the pouch and the lid. It's okay." His little heart was so distracted by the mess he had made, the mess he needed me to clean up, that he struggled following the next step. All he had to do was get the lid. One small step, but all he saw was the mess.

In that moment, as with so many moments of being momma, I heard a whisper, "Daughter, just do the next thing I tell you to do. I'll clean up the mess. It's okay. Honey, I've got this part. It's hard to clean up, I will do that for you. You just do the part I told you to do." If you’ve ever felt like you’re not enough—you are.

God has equipped you for this season, and He is walking with you every step of the way.
